2014 Update:
Classes: Year 7 English, Year 10 English, Year 12 History, Year 12 Global Politics
Positions of Responsibility: Year 7 Coordinator & Head of Humanities
My name is Stephania Augello and I am a secondary school teacher in Melbourne, Australia. This is my fourth year in the profession and I absolutely love it. Although I am still relatively new to the profession, my experience spans between countries and year levels as I have taught in Canada and Australia and also in both primary and high schools. The areas that I have focused on throughout my career have been technology in the classroom (ICT), rich numeracy learning tasks, and strategies for teaching EAL (English as an Additional Language) students in a mainstream classroom. This year, I have participated in a project to develop a new literacy and numeracy intervention program for my school. This has allowed me to intensively look at data and current literacy and numeracy programs. It has been a wonderful experience to learn more about how students learn and to really break down the learning to identify how we can help our students succeed.
